Towards a more sustainable production: SCT-Straw embraces circular economy in plastic extrusion.

Circular economy is a production and consumption model based on minimizing waste and maximizing the utilization of available resources. In the world of plastic extrusion, circular economy is particularly important due to the significant amount of plastic waste generated in our market.

Within the plastic extrusion market, circular economy has become a key factor for companies' competitiveness, driven by the increasing demand for sustainable and environmentally friendly products.

At SCT-Straw, we are actively implementing strategies to reduce waste of polyethylene and polypropylene, while also maximizing their utilization and efficiency.

The most common strategies in recycling materials such as PE (Polyethylene) or PP (Polypropylene) to minimize waste include using recycled raw materials or designing products that can be reintegrated into the production chain for manufacturing new items.

Materials can be reused in the manufacturing process in two ways:

- Utilizing recycled materials that have already been used for other products.

- Incorporating virgin materials that have been cut for a specific piece and reintroducing them into the hopper.

No accreditation or certification is required to reuse virgin materials, whereas recycled materials need to meet certain conditions before being utilized.
