Plastic types
In Sct-Straw we work with an extended gamma of raw materials and references but our main experience relies on propylene (PP), polystyrene (PS) and PVC.
Every one of these materials has different characteristics.
Polypropylene (PP) is a good electrical insulator, is 100% recyclable and it’s easy to apply colors. It also has high resistance. Polypropylene is employed for the manufacturing of tubes for different applications, equipment profiles, protections, or coextrusions with flexible materials.
Polystyrene (PS) is a good thermic insulator and is ideal for food grade products. It is not toxic and hard. It is used for foamed picture frames, automotive parts, and packaging profiles.
PVC is another good electrical insulator, has a long durability, smooth finishes, and is water resistant. The most frequently used PVC products are window profiles, piping, guide or core tubes, and industry profiles.
