Experts in automotive profile extrusion
We are IATF-certified suppliers for your automotive profiles.
The extrusion of automotive parts allows us to create lightweight, resistant and functional components. Thanks to this process, it is possible to manufacture parts such as profiles, joints, ducts and interior mouldings, adapted to the design and performance requirements of the automotive sector.
The extrusion of automotive profiles allows us to optimise production times and costs compared to injection moulding, although it is more limited geometrically. However, at SCT-STRAW we have the capacity to carry out auxiliary processes such as cutting, die cutting and deformation, which allow us to expand the range of parts we can manufacture.
Materials for the extrusion of automotive profiles.
The extrusion of automotive parts can use different plastic materials depending on the design and customer requirements:
- PP (Polypropylene): Lightweight material, impact resistant and with good chemical resistance. Ideal for automotive profiles that require flexibility and low weight.
- ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate): Offers excellent resistance to weathering, impact and UV rays. It is commonly used in the extrusion of automotive profiles exposed to sunlight and outdoor conditions.
- ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene): Very resistant and with good rigidity, it is easy to mould and has good impact resistance. Used in interior components and structural parts.
- TPV (Thermoplastic Vulcanised Elastomer): Combines the properties of rubber and plastic, offering elasticity, chemical and thermal resistance. It is used in the extrusion of automotive plastics that require flexibility and durability, such as gaskets and seals.
Each material is selected according to the specific requirements of the component, ensuring performance and durability in automotive applications.
